Matt Hughes was born on October 13, 1978 in Hillisboro, Illinois. Matt Hughes wrestled and played football through the duration of his highschool carrer but it became evident to him very quickly that he excelled in Wrestling and should focus soley on that to better is success in the sport. He attend a college in belleville,Ilinois where he wrestled but it was not untill later that he would start competing in a league.
Hughes made his debut in UFC 34 where he power slammed his opponent so hard that he knocked him out. After this fight people knew that Hughes was meant to be a force in this league and his opponents would have to fight their best to be able to compete against the new comer. Hughes had many ups and downs during his career, suffering painful loses and securing meaningful victories. Hughes is not fighting anymore but is still involved with the TV show the Ultimate Fighter. Hughes had a successful career and proved to everyone what he was capable of making him a well deserving hall of fame member.
